Looksy here.
Better give credit. It’s Guttermouth.
I guess the most interesting book there is 4th from right on bottom shelf.
That Terrible Time by Geoffrey Rice
“New Zealand's worst public health disaster occurred in November 1918 when around 9000 people died in the so-called "Spanish" influenza pandemic.”
I’d never have credited idiot piece of shit rather than malicious piece of shit before, but well, there it is.
What else is there?
Differently Abled tells the story of Graeme Axford
Born with severe dyslexia and misunderstood throughout much of his childhood, Graeme rose above stigma and systemic exclusion to become a social worker. But after being overlooked for a job at CYF (now Oranga Tamariki) Graeme smelled a rat and decided to challenge the decision. What ensued was a long arduous, time-consuming battle.
Woman and Leadership Real Lives, Real Lessons (yeah guys leave it off) by Julia Gillard & Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Featuring Jacinda Ardern, Hillary Clinton, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Theresa May, Michelle Bachelet, Joyce Banda, Erna Solberg, Christine Lagarde and more.
eyeroll…..
Know your place by fellow Young Global Leader bore Golriz Ghahrahman (Green Party shithead here in NZ)
Passionate and unflinching, Know Your Place is a story about breaking barriers, and the daily challenges of prejudice that shape the lives of women and minorities. At its heart, it's about overcoming fear, about family, and about finding a place to belong.
Another eyeroll….
The Cure for Hate by Tony McAleer
How does an affluent, middle-class, private-school-attending son of a doctor end up at the Aryan Nations compound in Idaho, falling in with and then recruiting for some of the most notorious neo-Nazi groups in Canada and the United States?
Even more irrelevant here than it is in NY. But I guess Christchurch has been Jacinda’s most successful media moment. Best to revel in it even if the murderer was from Australia not New Zealand. And there is that meeting with Jack Dorsey who policed hate in a rather peculiar way on Twitter. Which was to throw any woman off who dared to stand up for women….
The Educators' Guide to Whole-school Wellbeing: A Practical Guide to Getting Started, Best-practice Process and Effective Implementation by Denise M. Quinlan, Lucy C. Hone
Many of our LGBTQI students are coping with discovering their gender identity…
Sigh….
2020 Vision: Ending Child Poverty for Good by Josephine Tucker
LOL how’s that going Jacinda?
Stalin? (the hair’s in the way…..)
My best guess….. (LOL)
A Political History of the World by Jonathan Holslag (best guess, title looks correct)
A three-thousand year history of the world that examines the causes of war and the search for peace.
War? What war Jacinda?
Not clear what the next book is
Lost Connections: Uncovering the Real Causes of Depression - and the Unexpected Solutions by Johann Hari (or a version thereof)
To be sure, you will see Barack Obama praised, and you will not see Conservative thought champions mentioned. Nice try Mr. Hari. You could have done better by shelving the ideological spin and proposing broader solutions. But kudos to you for exposing the true interests of Big Pharma in the treatment of depression and anxiety. You had me initially, but so disappointed that you turned what appeared to be some good work and intention into a subliminal advertisement for the socialist, utopian welfare state. Enjoy the royalties.
There’s some other books in the shelf above but they’re harder to figure out. So I’ve left them. The one that is easy enough to figure out is “Turning Stone into Jade” a history of the Chinese Association of NZ. If you want to have a go at the rest on that shelf feel welcome to add them below and I’ll add them in.
Hilarious title 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for this bibliographic exposé, Rich.
Great article, thank you for illuminating what the fool reads or at least pretends she can read
