A very interesting insight in to the early days of Dunedin which was well established in 1926.

The problem of cars, congestion, parking bays and the need for pedestrian crossings have to be laid at our feet as we are attached to our cars. There is little inclination to walk to the bus stop. Where I live the Council has put on free weekend buses as a trial to ease the situation. I don't think the uptake has been great, because they keep advertising and pushing for us to make use of this service. I have been thinking about catching the bus for about a year now - still thinking.
