New Zealand moves further into fascism

Might be time to reread La Peste by Camus.

Today the traffic light system has come into place in this country that still calls itself New Zealand. Although it is occasionally called Aotearoa as well this is not a Maori word as commonly thought but a made up word of the British in the 19th Century. A bit like Wanaka, a lake and a town in the alpine lakes area of the South Island, is not really a Maori word but more a Linear B (archaic Greek) word which means king. How did that get there aye? There is it should be added an extremely sarcastic letter to the editor of a Taranaki newspaper on the making up of ‘Aotearoa’ back in about 1849 which I might rustle up later. But basically nothing is as it seems. Taranaki btw is still causing the government problems.

The Traffic Light system has already been noted by our slowly waking up journalists as having no green light. Of course there’s no Green light guys. Sheesh.

The Dunedin City Council via the execrable Sandy Graham who is the CEO of the Dunedin City Council and who undoubtedly runs the show, as the Mayor is more than a little pathetic, announced yesterday that she was shutting down all council owned assets to the unclean (i.e. the unvaccinated). This includes the libraries, the pools, the council buildings themselves. I guess it also includes its forests which are the only thing, other than China, that keeps this council afloat. Lee Vandervis, who came close to being mayor in 2019 but was overtaken in the later stages in a far from transparent STV tallying system, is in today’s paper complaining about that.

Lee is generally castigated around this city for being bad tempered. He can be, I’ve seen it myself, but boy this city is capable of making somebody like that. Generally though he holds democracy up more than any other councillor in this city. Recently I emailed him about a commercial matter we’d run into. We had offered to temporarily lease a shop which is ultimately council owned and after initial assurances that it was basically a done thing we then ran into a brick wall. Lee was very helpful but the response was inadequate. The result of that is that I’ve thrown 3 OIA (Freedom of Information) requests at Sandy Graham.

Blacklists btw are nothing new for me here, so the above reaction is nothing that I have not run into before. NZ is a country of 5 million people, 12 million cattle, 30 million sheep and about 400 woke arseholes who run the show. And I’m probably in their top ten shit list.

I’ve also thrown some emails at the Vice Chancellor of the University here putting her on notice that to mandate vaccinations of all staff, students and visitors is at her liability if anything, and it will, goes wrong. I’d rather hope to see her resignation about now but it has yet to happen.

And my Tennis Club is also mandating the vaccination so I’m about to put them on notice as well. They already know my opposition to it but to do this when you have a hundred or more teenagers at the club is, I’m afraid, criminal.
