New Zealand moves further into fascism

Might be time to reread La Peste by Camus.

Today the traffic light system has come into place in this country that still calls itself New Zealand. Although it is occasionally called Aotearoa as well this is not a Maori word as commonly thought but a made up word of the British in the 19th Century. A bit like Wanaka, a lake and a town in the alpine lakes area of the South Island, is not really a Maori word but more a Linear B (archaic Greek) word which means king. How did that get there aye? There is it should be added an extremely sarcastic letter to the editor of a Taranaki newspaper on the making up of ‘Aotearoa’ back in about 1849 which I might rustle up later. But basically nothing is as it seems. Taranaki btw is still causing the government problems.

The Traffic Light system has already been noted by our slowly waking up journalists as having no green light. Of course there’s no Green light guys. Sheesh.
