The Aborigines call it Invasion Day and of course, it was.

Enjoy this song, "Amazing Grace" beautifully sung by a full blood Aborigine Gurrumil singing in his native tongue and Australian, Paul Kelly singing, of course in Australian.

Gurrumil was blind at birth and has since died of kidney failure which sadly many Aborigines suffer from.

What you are referring to is linked to this day:

What day did the First Fleet arrive in Australia?

The First Fleet of 11 ships, commanded by Captain Arthur Phillip, set up a convict settlement at Sydney Cove (now Circular Quay) on 26 January 1788. This was the beginning of convict settlement in Australia.

Today has been deathly quiet - no cars, no noise ... I don't think people know what they should

say or do as the Aborigines and many others hate this day and are quite vocal about it.

They have been talking about changing the day for years as it really is disrespectful to Aborigines.

I wonder if they ever will?
