It's on the Sunshine Coast right next to Alexander Headlands. I walked there each day that I was there, in fact the photograph I took is possibly more Mooloolaba than Alexander Headlands.
I'm not happy to be back. I scored a 1k fine at Christchurch for not testing 2nd time around but I wasn't asked to and just assumed all the talk of getting rid of the testing requirement meant that it wasn't required anymore. They took no notice of the fact that I'd just done 7 days of isolation. NZ is worse than Queensland and Victoria, much worse. And Victoria is not great. Queensland shows more signs of being 100% over it.
I expected problems at some stage. But the extra 3.5k of expenses was not desired. I shall start working on recovering that tomorrow. I shall be claiming every subsidy available in both countries. And will send Jacinda a bill..
I remember years after 911, I flew out of a big east coast airport, jfk. They just had me remove my belt and change, but not shoes. That era was over.
Flying back from long Beach California, I got yelled at by the security agent for not removing my shoes. I apologized and said that I'm confused because they stopped doing the shoe thing at major airports on the east coast, like jfk which I flew from. He said, this ain't jfk... Like as if a huge international airport somehow is not following the proper rules lol.
But these days the narrative is changing so fast that shit like this is going to happen more and more. Thankfully the morons that fell for the first fear porn story, still remember it while the new stories came out. Now this monkeypox is going to be the funniest thing, because it's not even a respiratory disease, so how are they gonna continue this lockdown madness on that weak sauce virus?
Yep friend mentioned how much he hated Andrews (he's glad Scomo is gone) and the election was a chance to fix it, but when I said do you really expect him to lose he said he doubted Victorians had it in them to get rid of him. Not much of a choice anyway, Matthew Guy not exactly good Premier material.
As a terribly anxious air traveller, especially these days I always enjoy reading about others experiences and, there was a bonus: I'm in Mooloolaba.
Having an awful weather right now but, I hope you've enjoyed your stay.
I heard there was a bit of rain up that way. Two days of sunshine while I was there.

Interested to hear how you got on, as I don't like cowering in place.
You mean Melbourne?
I mean the freedom of overseas travel. I feel that I am cowering at home.
I criticise the maskees for their cowardess, but I am too cowardly to jump on a plane.
Their unpredictable rule changes has had their desired effect.
So, good on you for escaping the rat infested archipelago for a while.

Thanks for the reporting. Would not know otherwise.
Sorry to hear how it went for you.

What a pain, and now you have to waste your time recovering from the racket.
Methinks you may head across the ditch, and ditch all the nonsense here.
Albanese will ramp up the nonsense in Australia somewhat.
It depends on family the next move. Daughter is planning on doing a Masters but probably not here.

Typo:
"Just had a very loud announcement that we must wear ***facemaks other mouth and nose."
Thanks.
"...Queensland (the first Australian State to open to the non-jabbed).."
Are you sure? Qld was never the leader in relaxing any measure.
Pretty sure so. NSW & Victoria joined in about 4/5 days later.
