As everyone has probably heard the case was decided in favour of the Government. The decision was unanimous. I wasn't too impressed with Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia, James Alsopp. I thought he was actually helping out Lloyd (the government's representative) when he basically floundered. And his decision seemed weak with reasons waiting for another day, not indicated as yet.

Djokovic's solicitors/barrister now have to decide whether to challenge further. Not sure how they would do that. Barry undoubtedly knows better.

Meantime Djokovic has given up on the Australian Open and is going to head home.

I find the media use of his different expressions as memes quite amusing.

NEVER anticipate a court's decision - if you don't want to be let down.

Even the lawyers involved don't usually anticipate their results.

The proper terms are:

1. The Applicant - Novax

2. The Respondent

I am unimpressed with all the verbal dexterity of the judges and the lawyers. The impressions we get from reading their written work are at unfavourable variance with their oral agility.

And they use unnecessary words - that is, they lack precision.
