Happy NEW YEAR 2024: it will be better than last year because 2023 was almost* rock bottom: like my son says: rock bottom the only place to go is up. *it could get worse before it gets better.. anyway
for me .. it will be better personally. Take care. and keep up the good work: Happy New Year 2024 to you and yours from my family and mine.. :)
I think such plans are toast tbh. If they want to continue to aim for them then they should be prepared for the consequences. I'm therefore not sure, should they continue to aim because I rather like those consequences for such criminals or would it be better to seek accommodation with severe limits around the games that they've played?
My (Australian) wife has just told me that when she first came here and was working in one of those places where you buy paint that a guy came in and said that he "wanted to paint his deck" and my wife's thoughts were "great but why are you telling me that".
And happy new year to you and yours as well. I think the competition between the 2 countries as seen from NZ is fading a little. And NZ passed Bali in the last few months as the most visited country for Australians (well Bali isn't really a country but I guess the point still stands).

And yours from me and mine.
it is the year of our reset.
it is removal of the parasites year.
It is the year of no longer reacting to their attacks but making our own
Have at it.
At this point, I just hope that 2024 won't be worse, though I fear that it will be with the coming election.
I suspect so. Will they pull antifa out of retirement?
Definitely. That and more. I believe by election day, martial law will be declared.
They would only be able to do that with foriegn troops I would think.
I think the thousands streaming across the border every day will aid in that. They will use our military to fight the crimes taking place.

I read London's fireworks televised will outdraw audiences in Australia and NZ watching the Sydney fireworks.
Sydney has been doing an impressive job on fireworks for 24 years or so so London is making quite the claim there.
I slept through the Dunedin fireworks last night.
Good to see the wonderful Kiwi in all her finery and the energetic kangaroo taking
ownership of the beach.
Eleanor Ainge Roy, an Australian who moved to New Zealand wrote in the Guardian
some years ago that there is a symbiosis in the relationship between the two countries
that has allowed the kinship to endure through decades of colonisation, change and growth.
A close friendship - g’day mate…Kia Ora bro - that allows our distinct identities to flourish.
She said, In New Zealand, Australia is a national obsession…the competition is on mate!
Although this is not the case for us on Substack - no competition here.
Happy New Year to you Richard and to Cairn and all who join in to comment on the topics.
To most Yanks, you're all Down Under. I like the way New Zealanders say six, though.
Yes, we speak beautifully.
The other word is deck In a NZ accent.....
"There's six with us on a deck enjoying ourselves"

just in case the bug isn't fixed.

I think the competition is fading a little, except perhaps with rugby especially so
the Bedisloe Cup.
That kiwi looks a bit plucked.
Happy New Year to you Richard and to all your fun followers.
Thanks Cairn. And happy new year to you and yours as well.
May the New Year bring health, peace and prosperity to you and your family! 🥂
And yours too.
