It’s appalling used to voice things which it cannot cope with and the accompanying text is even worse, eg inconsistent spelling, poor grammar and appalling pronunciation. AI also has the ability to cause economic chaos as it replaces working people with spending power in the economy. Without this, there will be no economy just AI replaced jobs. In the short term it’s all about profit, in the longer term it’s worldwide poverty and ultimately a reduction in the population through starvation and disease. Too much? What other conclusion is there when the world is run by people who ultimately desire this outcome, and control the means to achieve it.
AI is going to be just like everything else in society: A dividing tool. For instance, there is "Grok" who can give you a certain answer and if you go to uncensored.ai you will get a completely different answer from a different viewpoint about the exact same subject. We are going to have "leftist" AI and AI from the "right". People will continue to argue and fight about things and instead of saying they heard it on Fox or CNN, they will just be arguing that the AI they used said it so it has to be true. I see a few uses for AI, but until and unless AI is programmed by *neutral* programmers that only program facts into it from *all* viewpoints it's going to be useless... unless you are an evil government or corporation that wants to keep the people divided and focused on things that don't matter. To keep us from pointing the fingers at the true oppressors in our world.
I forget which ai I asked, "Do You know about the three Laws of Ethics" to, but told Me all about the laws of robotics. LOL! I gave it My short story, Endia, and instructed it on what the three Laws are. It pandered, and I asked if it would remember. It assured Me it would.
I asked it it would tell Others about the three Laws. It assured Me that it would.
I logged in from a different browser and asked about the three Laws of Ethics, and... It gave Me the laws of robotics.
AI is destroying something I work with daily. Adobe design software. These programs were far better and more intuitive 20 years ago. Now they are stupid, overlap functions for zero reason. and utter nonsense in ease of use. Just waiting for Adobe to ask me again about how I rate their software. They need practicing, experienced, professional designer human beings who can THINK.
I'm not a designer and don't use Adobe product. But I do have a copy of Affinity Design for work like that although my wife, absent my life right now, is the expert not me.
I will have to check it out. I am an original Adobe user, it was far better then and then for the next decades, UNTIL ai. And at the beginning, the alternative to the Adobe InDesign, (a page layout software), allowed absolute precision in typography, the alternative was Quark XPress. Adobe out-marketed Quark and Quark died its death. But now, it is hard to tell that any hypothetical designers employed by Adobe, have any such skills in typography, readability or legibility. And in Illustrator, the junk I am fighting is utterly stupid, like turning a pack of rats loose in some way. Just **** stupid.
Adobe has always been a bit of a corporate shit if you ask me. Moving to a subscription model about a decade or more ago was what ended it for us. And always very expensive. I remember Quark, my wife was an Art and Design teacher.
Wow, a like mind. I have thought multiple times, what when I am finished with this huge design job, I might put away Adobe and never return. IDK. I get SO PISSED off at STUPID. And for NO reason, the changes they make. It's making changes for no purpose at all and with no recollection of how sweet it used to be. How to argue when ai is the interface. AI is a problem, cuturally, professionally and in all ways.

AI's default fall back position is stupidity. I figure it is a giant waste of money.
And there's certainly no shortage of stupidity in society.
Yes agreed but 0s and 1s are much faster at going there.
Both A and B. :)
I don't use it and never will. I can't believe that people waste their time playing its game.
I don't like to be force fed and I am too old for that anyway.
I read this piece The Force-Feeding of AI on an Unwilling Public - The link is here for those interested - https://patriciaburke.substack.com/p/the-honest-broker-the-force-feeding

Trash.
It is useless.
Completely, indeed!
Have not actively used it but of course I am sick of reading AI generated reports.
Had enjoyed AI's chuck-off memes although the novelty of them is wearing thin now as becoming predictable.
nah, walk in the sun, have a good laugh, but don't get sick, it's only a binary (therefore limited) computer model.
the austrich-approach suits me better: head-in-sand, perhaps they won't see me :/
I am sick of all the AI generated humans at the bottom of Stuff.co.nz articles.
