Good question, but if I had to bet, I'd say Obama is still pulling strings because so many from his administration are now back and in Biden's admin. 77 worked in a previous administrations and 74 worked in the Obama administration. Very influential people at the very top who are most likely making Joe's decisions for him including Obama's special pet Susan Rice, also Ron Klain, Jake Sullivan, Anthony Blinken, Lloyd Austin, Alejandro Mayorkas, Janet Yellen, Brian Deese, and many many others. There is a video out there of Obama himself saying these words: "If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a frontman or frontwoman, and they had an earpiece in and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, then I could sort of deliver the lines but somebody else was doing all the talking and ceremony, then I'd be fine with that because I found the work fascinating". So Dementia Joe is the frontman and Harris is a box-checking non-entity. We should never forget Obama's election statement of "We are about to fundamentally change America." At the time he said that, most people didn't have a clue what he meant. And in 8 years, he didn't finish dismantling the Constitution and the country. Had Hillary been elected in 2016, this all would have happened sooner but Trump's election threw a monkey wrench into their plans. Now they're back on track again with a mentally addled fool supposedly in the driver's seat...except he's not, he's just a useful idiot who can "sort of" read the teleprompter words that the others write for him. I'm wondering when the jig will finally be up and everyone will see the emperor has no clothes. I hope that happens before the country is lost forever.
I think Biden is shocked at what he's taken on and is throwing out statements of defense, that are actually quite useful in a court of law, all over the place. So although I agree that he's a 'mentally addled fool' he's not a complete idiot. He's also seeming of the view, because of that defense, that this is going to fail.
I agree. Many in the press try to portray him as suffering from dementia and not knowing what he's saying or doing. I don't agree with that at all. If you watch videos of him from even 2 years ago, you definitely see a difference. Clearly he has memory issues. What I find odd is that sometimes he seems almost out of it and a bit incoherent as he mumbles and slurs words, but other times he seems more together and in control, and his voice is stronger (such as yesterday, with a deeper but oddly stronger voice due to a cold). My daughter works with dementia patients and sees definite signs of onset of dementia with Biden, but it can progress at different speeds depending on the person. Whatever his current state of mind (and brain), he most definitely could not be in his presidential position without others behind the scenes doing a lot of the work, and probably major decision making as well. When you compare his cognitive state with that of Trump and even Bernie, or Fauci (older than Biden), there is a striking difference in their cognitive states and overall vibrancy and energy, and Biden is far worse off comparatively speaking.
At least Biden is starting to get a slight bit of criticism from a supine press, more than before. I also have to wonder how much he has just gone along with his administration's destructive decisions without really believing in what they were recommending. You can't underestimate someone who has craved the presidency his entire adult life, and now that he is there (by however means he achieved that) he must want to leave some sort of positive legacy and he must see everything circling the drain at this point. And all that stuff about his "family business" with his brother and Hunter may yet come out big time and bring him down in the corruption of it all. It will be interesting to watch.
